Building better communities starts with volunteers. At the Marketplace, you can find out why donating your time is a great way to build a stronger and more caring community, and a fine way to gain hands-on experience. Organizations and volunteer groups such as Aphasia Centre of Ottawa, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, Carefor Day Program, English Language Tutoring for the Ottawa Community - ELTOC, Family Services Ottawa, Friends of the Experimental Farm, 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship, Interval House, Kingsway Arms Retirement Homes (St-Joseph Manoir/Orléans Villa), Lifetime Networks Ottawa, Meals on Wheels, Military Family Resource Centre, Nepean, Rideau, Osgoode Community Resource Centre, OCRI - Volunteers in Education, Ottawa Special Olympics, Riverside Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, South-East Ottawa Community Services Inc., The Canadian Red Cross Ottawa Branch, The Ottawa Hospital, The Perley-Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, Volunteer Ottawa and the City of Ottawa will be present to answer your questions.
Whether you are interested in working with children, youth, adults or seniors, the Volunteer Marketplace is a great place to find an organization that needs you. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. If you need more information, please contact the City’s Volunteer Services at 613-580-2624 (TTY: 613-580-2401) or send an e-mail to volunteer@ottawa.ca.
