Accomplished broadcaster Adrian Harewood named as host of CBC Radio One's All In A Day, Ottawa

Adrian Harewood will join CBC Radio as the new host of Ottawa's favourite
afternoon program All In A Day. Adrian will be heard on-air beginning
Monday, June 5, 2006.
"Having grown up in Ottawa and listened to CBC Radio, the prospect of
moving back and reflecting the city I grew up in is very exciting," says
Harewood. "I have family here, and I want to be involved in the
Rob Renaud, Regional Director of programming, CBC Television and CBC
Radio, echoes the sentiment. "We are thrilled to have a broadcaster of
Adrian's standing and calibre. Adrian knows Ottawa, knows the community
and we are looking forward to him informing, entertaining, and
enlightening our drive home listeners.
"This is a homecoming for Adrian; he attended elementary and high school
at Ashbury College, and was involved in community radio at CKCU and CHUO
in the mid-90s. The Ottawa-born Harewood's passion for radio continued
when he moved to Montreal. He was station manager of campus/community
radio station CKUT - Radio McGill * after studying Political Theory and
History at McGill University. For the last ten years, Adrian has honed his
skills as a Toronto-based freelance writer and broadcaster.
He has hosted many national programs on CBC Radio and CBC Television
including As it Happens, Sounds Like Canada, The Current and counterSpin
as well as Toronto shows Metro Morning, Ontario Morning, and Here and Now.
He was also the host of The Actors, The Directors and Literati as seen on
BRAVO and PBS. Adrian has a keen interest in community involvement and has
worked as a volunteer for almost a decade.
He is a past Board Member of Central Neighbourhood House in Toronto,
providing essential and innovative services to young people, seniors, and
new Canadians and formerly on the Board of Head and Hands, helping to
provide youth services in Montreal. Adrian has also worked as a Youth
Program Worker providing counselling for at-risk students in six Toronto
high schools.All In A Day, produced by Linda Russell, is heard weekday
afternoons from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on CBC Radio One (91.5 in Ottawa).
