Skiers are invited to discover one of North America’s most popular and beautiful trail networks, which, when fully operational, boasts close to 200 kilometres of groomed trails track set for “classic” cross-country skiing. One hundred kilometres of those trails are also groomed for “skate” skiing. The Park is also known for its

25-kilometre snowshoe and 10-kilometre winter hiking trail networks.

Gatineau Park is known for its exceptionally long ski season.  The season usually opens in mid-December and closes at the end of March. In 2004-2005, skiers were on the trails from December 3, 2004, to April 8, 2005. Each year, there are close to 200,000 visits on the Gatineau Park cross-country ski trail network, and 50,000 visits on the 35 km of trails designated for snowshoeing and hiking.
