Summary: A new badge presented by Scouts Canada honours veterans

Scouts Canada has created a badge to show appreciation to those who have served, and those who continue to serve and protect peace and freedom in the world.

In a special ceremony before the Ottawa 67’s game against the Mississauga IceDogs on Friday, November 11, scouts from the 1st Manotick, 23rd Ottawa, and 3rd Orleans will present badges to Veterans at centre ice Friday night at the Civic Centre. Throughout the Year of the Veteran, it has been an initiative of Scouts Canada, to have members of all ages present the badge to a Canadian Veteran or Peacekeeper.

Local Scouts will also be on hand to collect non-perishable food donations for the Ottawa Food Bank. The Ottawa 67’s and members of local Scouts troupes encourage fans coming to the game on Friday night to bring a canned food item which will be donated to the Ottawa Food Bank.

The first 2,000 children 12 & under at the Civic Centre on Friday night will receive a Bauer Mini Stick. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the Ottawa 67’s would like to encourage all fans to arrive at the Civic Centre early tomorrow night.

There are still great seats available for Friday night’s game and tickets may be purchased online at www.capitaltickets.ca, over the phone by calling 599-FANS, or in person at the Ottawa 67’s store and ticket office in the Coliseum Building on Bank St.

Ottawa 67’s ticket prices are one of the lowest in the OHL.  Children 12 years old and under can enjoy affordable hockey action for only $11.00 per game, adults can take in a game for only $14.00 and students and seniors can watch for only $13.00
