Summary: Strong fan interest for the ‘Battle of Ontario’, American Hockey League (AHL) style, has sparked sales of more than 12,500 tickets for the Binghamton Senators versus St. John’s Maple Leafs game at the Corel Centre Saturday, Jan. 22. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
With
the Senators in the midst of a five-game winning streak, and with only two
losses in their last 12 games, Binghamton comes to the Corel Centre for their
last meeting of a four-game series against Toronto’s AHL affiliate. St.
John’s has already defeated Binghamton three times this season, including two
games played at the Air Canada Centre in December. The Maple Leafs also beat the
Senators 1-0 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Dec. 18 in the
third meeting.
Heading
into the weekend action, Binghamton will take their 23-14-3-2 record (51 points)
and host the league-leading Manchester Monarchs Friday. St. John’s, and their
26-14-0-1 record (53 points), will be in Syracuse to face the
Crunch.
