Summary: DNIE inc. applies proprietary 'Food and Restaurants' web mining technology to help restaurant owners monitor and improve their online reputation.
OTTAWA, Canada – March 11, 2010 – DNIE inc. today announced the launch of InfoGlutton, its first product for the monitoring and improvement of Online Reputation in the restaurant industry. InfoGlutton is a simple, easy-to-use product tailored to the needs of small and medium businesses (SMBs).
Reviews and star-ratings make and break reputations and fortunes and influence the direction of the restaurant scene. Ten years ago, this powerful influence was in the hands of a few individuals, such as the New York Times chief dining critic. Today, any person with access to a computer can participate in discussions about a restaurant using social media tools, making it infinitely more difficult to track. Restaurants run the risk of abuse and fraudulent dissemination of negative reviews. At the same time, social media tools present an unprecedented opportunity for direct interaction with real customers.
The online reputation of a restaurant influences thousands of potential customers every day. For a typical city with one million inhabitants, 10,000 queries related to restaurants are formulated every day on Google. The vast majority of Google results are restaurant review directories such as Yelp.com, UrbanSpoon.com and Chowhound.com. According to the BIA/Kelsey Group, 79 per cent of people who view these online reviews are directly influenced in their decision to make a purchase.
InfoGlutton is intended to help restaurants keep track of 'digital word-of-mouth' and take action to protect and improve their online reputation. Restaurateurs can access an on-demand summary report that captures conversations going on through social networks, user reviews, and message boards. By 2013, the number of SMBs using reputation management tools is expected to grow from 500,000 to four million.
InfoGlutton is based on text analytics and web mining algorithms that extract meaningful content from diverse online sources and analyse the sentiments that are expressed. Once a wealth of information is aggregated, it is used for early detection of viral or fraudulent negative reviews, as well as improvement of search engine positioning based on customer praise.
The specific features InfoGlutton offers include:
· Monitoring of online restaurant reviews
· In-depth online reputation report
· Publication of a uniform profile across all restaurant directories
· Early detection of viral and fraudulent negative reviews
· Removal of fraudulent negative reviews that violate terms of service
· Search engine optimization based on positive reviews
