Seeking public assistance following a break in at a church on Smith Road

The Ottawa Police Service Break and Enter Section is seeking the public’s assistance to find important documents that were stolen in a Break and Enter last week from a Church located in the 1000 block of Smith Road, in Navan.

Sometime between February 5

at 11:00am and February 6

th

at 3:30pm, an unknown suspect (s) broke into the church and left with a small grey Sentry Safe containing a record book filled with Church records, namely: marriage certificates, baptism certificates, confirmation certificates and death certificates. The record book is 8 ½x11” black with red bindings around the edge.

The Church is eager to retrieve this item as soon as possible and has advised that the person(s) responsible can anonymously drop off the record book on the steps of the Church.
