Section of Greenbank Road to fully close Friday overnight

Greenbank Road will be closed to vehicular, cycling and pedestrian traffic in both directions between Malvern Drive and Wessex Road, overnight from 8 p.m. Friday, August 7 to 7 a.m. Saturday August 8. The road will be closed to begin construction of a railway track across the Greenbank Detour Road, as part of the Greenbank Road widening project.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians should avoid the area during this overnight road closure. Traffic will be detoured to Woodroffe Avenue. Police will be on site directing traffic, and Portable Variable Message signs will also give information.

OC Transpo Route 170 will be detoured during the closure. For more information, please visit octranspo.com .

When Greenbank Road reopens on Friday morning, traffic will use the same roadway as before and the railway signals will not be changed.

The Greenbank Road widening project is part of Ottawa on the Move, which is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
