 March 3 – April 11:   Hooked on Rugs (Almonte)

From March 3 to April 11, the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum is featuring the work of fibre artists Lesli Zanetti and Loretta Moore in the Norah Rosamond Hughes Gallery. Their hooked rugs feature artful designs from primitive to modern. More info can be found on the

  Annual Carefor Chocolate Competition (Ottawa)

If chocolate is your passion, a visit to this event is mandatory! This fundraiser for Carefor Health and Community Services will be held on March 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tudor Hall on N Bowesville Road. Tickets are $75 for adults (includes a $25 tax receipt) and $40 for children ages 4 to 12. Brunch, silent auction, chocolate fountain and chocolate desserts are included!  March 21:   T.H.A.T. Craft Fair (Ottawa)

Let T.H.A.T. (Totally Handmade Artisan Trinkets) help you start off your spring with a bang! This spring craft fair runs on Saturday March 21st, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Jack Purcell Community Center in room 203. A jam-packed event filled with over 150 exhibitors showcasing the latest in prenatal, post partum and baby & toddler products and services. Talk to the experts face-to-face, attend free expert seminars, ask all the questions you have been seeking the answers for, entertain your entire family and walk away with tons of free samples and giveaways!  Where: EY Centre Hall 2. ** March 28:   HOMEmade Meltdown (Carleton Place) **

Creative Creations' first spring craft show will be held on March 28 in the Carleton Place Arena. This juried show will showcase local talent only and offer some fantastic gift ideas for everyone on your list! More details can be found on the event’s Facebook page .

** March 28 & 29:   Ottawa Artisans Guild Spring Craft Show & Sale (Gloucester) **

The Ottawa Artisans Guild, a collection of local artisans, sponsors several juried markets each year where its members present their handmade articles for sale to the public. Parking and admission are free but donations to the Ottawa Food Bank are gladly accepted. Where: Lester B. Pearson High School, 2072 Jasmine Crescent, Gloucester. ** March 27 – May 2:   Luminous (Cornwall) **

Luminous is a celebration of glass art and features such artists from Bluefront Studio,  Curiousarty Studio,  Living Sun Glass, Melting Pot Studio and the Priest Mills Glassworks.  The exhibition opens on March 25 (opening reception on March 27 at 7 p.m.) and closes on May 2. ** March 29:   2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off **

Does your chili have what it takes? Put it to the test for a great cause! On March 29, the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off in support of three local animal charities - the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue, Sit With Me Shelter Dog Rescueand Ottawa Dog Rescue - will unfold at the Barrhaven Legion on Fallowfield Road.
