Come and celebrate a new art and craft season with the OVCC and CreativeOttawa!
At the OVCC and CreativeOttawa.com, our goal is to support and promote the exceptional talent of artisans in the Ottawa Valley region. With that in mind, we strive to nurture the free flow of ideas, enhance networking opportunities for artisans, and provide spaces and venues that are functional on many levels.
We know that you are constantly seeking inspiration and we want to provide yet another place for you to find it! Please join us at our newest hang-out, “La Charrette” on either [or both] Saturday 12 September and Sunday 13 September (between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily), and mingle with your peers as well as visitors at our hub of inspiration.
We invite newcomers who want to learn more about us as well as our seasoned veteran artisans – and everyone else with a creative mind – to enjoy both the space and brainstorming opportunities. Let’s reflect on past seasons and shows, discuss upcoming vendor opportunities, welcome new faces, and explore the possibilities that this new location has to offer us as a body of artisans.
We plan on hosting these “creative weekends” on a regular basis; the idea is to allow you – the artisans – to network away from the busy atmosphere of a show. We are also entertaining the idea of booking the space for workshops, hosted by our guild members, so that interested creative visitors can learn from your expertise. There is also great potential for future “mini-events”, such as trunk shows or specific-media themed shows at “La Charrette”.
“La Charrette” is located at 460 West Hunt Club Road (at the intersection of Merivale Road) and offers ample free parking. Coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks are available, and for the more adventurous individuals among you, beer and wine are also available.
Admission/parking is free, but we will gladly accept a cash donation at your discretion to be given to OVCC Artisan @ Archives JOY! chosen charities.
All creative minds welcome! Please RSVP on our Facebook event page.
That’s all for now, folks, have a creative week and don’t forget to support local!
