Safety inspector calls Barrhaven rail crossing "a threat to safe railway operations"

The City of Ottawa released two memos today regarding an incident on Thursday morning involving an OC Transpo bus at a Barrhaven rail crossing.

First, a memo from Railway Safety Inspector John Valencik: “An OC Transpo bus transporting passengers stopped under and came into contact with an activated railway crossing gate arm and was in close proximity to a passing VIA train.” The memo asks the City of Ottawa to respond by November 21 on how it plans to fix the hazard.
