Q Residential offers 150 apartment suites in Ottawa buildings to arriving Syrians

Q Residential is pleased to announce that it will be making available 150 newly renovated apartment suites in Ottawa to arriving Syrian refugee families, over the next several months.

Q Residential owns and manages over 7,000 rental units in the Greater Toronto Area and the National Capital Region.

The two and three bedroom suites being made available range in size from 1,050 square feet to 1,150 square feet, and are in two high-rise towers adjacent to each other.  Each suite will have a new refrigerator and a new stove.  In addition, to help the newly arrived immigrants furnish their homes, Q Residential is providing each family with a $3,000 gift certificate for use at The Brick.

“Where will we live is a question foremost on the minds of these new immigrants and we are pleased that our company has been able to provide an address for these families,” said John Lago, President of Q Residential.  “It is fortunate that our renovation schedule is allowing us to make these units available during this time.”

“We look forward to working with all the public and private agencies and sponsoring groups, as we welcome our new tenants,” Lago added.

In addition to the apartments and the $3,000 gift certificate, Q Residential is also making available the common space rooms in each building. This will allow the new tenants to have meetings with social services staff, sponsors and other supporters, as well as just gather as a community.

The property, located at 1240-1244 Donald Street in Ottawa, is conveniently situated near public transportation, schools, parks and shopping.
