Portion of St. Joseph Boulevard closes Thursday

A 700-metre portion of St. Joseph Boulevard, between Taylor Creek Drive and the Ottawa Road 174 eastbound on-ramp, will be closed to all traffic beginning Thursday, July 2 at 9 a.m. until mid-September. The on-ramp itself remains open for motorists approaching from the west end of St. Joseph Boulevard.

The closure is necessary to allow for the widening of St. Joseph Boulevard, as well as the installation of culverts, storm sewers and watermains in the area.

Detour signage will be posted to help direct motorists and cyclists. Access will still be allowed for residents and businesses located within the construction zone.

During construction, OC Transpo Route 122 will be detoured. For more information on changes to this route, visit octranspo.com .

With all of the construction-related activities underway, residents are encouraged to be flexible with commuting times, stagger work hours or use alternative means for travel. The public is asked to consider options such as transit, walking, cycling or carpooling.
