Police deal with four shootings in a day; one fatal

Editor’s note: Omar Rashid-Ghader, 33, was identified as the city’s 11th homicide victim, after a shooting at a nightclub on Dalhousie Street near Clarence around 3:30 a.m. He was declared dead at the scene. 

Investigators named Mustafa Ahmed, 28, as their suspect. If seen, call 911. He is considered armed and dangerous.

According to Metro’s Joe Lofaro, there was a second shooting on Presland Road around the same time. One victim was hospitalized but soon released.

A third shooting was reported in Blackburn Hamlet around 5:00 a.m. There were no injuries. 

The fourth shooting happened around 4:45, this time in the Ogilvie Road and Cummings area.

Police are searching for two vehicles in connection:
