Parkdale off-ramp closures begin Thursday

The Parkdale Avenue off-ramp will be closed nightly for motorists travelling eastbound on Highway 417 starting on Thursday, June 18 between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. due to construction. ** Beginning on July 6, the westbound Parkdale off-ramp will be fully closed for a period of 57 days. ** Motorists can access the Civic Hospital via Carling Avenue (Exit 124). Signs will be posted advising motorists of the closure. Please plan your trip in advance and expect delays.

Nightly lane closures on Highway 417 in this area will continue through the summer and are scheduled as follows:

 *
Monday to Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

 *
Thursday to Friday from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

 *
Saturday and Sunday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

These closures are necessary as part of the Ministry of Transportation’s improvements to the Parkdale Avenue off-ramp.

With all of the construction-related activities underway, residents are encouraged to be flexible with commuting times, stagger work hours or use alternative means for travel. The public is asked to consider options such as transit, walking, cycling or carpooling.

The City of Ottawa has tools to help motorists and transit users plan their routes and manage their commute, including:
