If you’re going to Westfest , be sure to check out The Hidden Cameras and Ottawa’s own Silkken Laumann on Friday night. It’s free and these bands are really going to make you want to dance. Also, these two videos will likely be the strangest you see all week. If they aren’t we should probably hang out.

** June 8-10: The Food at Westfest **

Besides great music and dance, may we suggest you check out the street food venues?  Standouts this year, Stone Soup Truck (aka Sweet Pea) and Jackie Jolliffe will be serving her brand of salads, sandwiches, and tacos in the main stage area.  Everything Jackie makes is from scratch and with great local ingredients.  And, another food truck, Relish will make its debut at Westfest.  Paul is looking at serving smoked trout and bacon guacamole, fried green tomato sandwiches with chips, fish and chips, and jerk chicken with masa cakes.

** June 12: Big Concerts, Big Screen = Pretty damn good time!

** Well, last Tuesday, the friendly folks at Wakefield’s Kaffé 1870 were showing Ben Harper – Live at the Hollywood Bowl on their big screen, and before that AC/DC, The Rolling Stones. But this week it will be a surprise. Why not follow the Kaffé on Twitter or send them an email telling them what you’d like to see!
