But he never rests on his laurels: just in 2013, he was named a Jazz Hero by the Jazz Journalists Association, and organized a major international guitar convention. And, most importantly to local jazz fans, he finally recorded a CD with his trio. All his own music, it’s melodic, multi-layered, and full of textures and resonances; the audience at his Ottawa trio concert last fall thoroughly enjoyed an advance listen to the music.
