The 2014 edition of OXW runs from June 12 to June 15 at various locations across Ottawa including Club Saw, House of Targ, Mugshots, Cafe Dekcuf, and Avant-Garde Bar. This niche music festival, which features independent underground punk, rock, garage, hardcore bands from the region and beyond will present over 75 groups, the majority of which you’ve probably never heard of, but that you should definitely discover and encourage if you’re into that kind of music.

Thursday, June 12: Wish Upon A Laugh and Homes with Woofs!
One evening, two events for good causes. At Wish Upon A Laugh, comedians Mike MacDonald, Casey Corbin and Wafik Nasralla take the stage at an Algonquin-student-run benefit for the Children’s Wish Foundation. Homes with Woofs!, organized by local realtors with support from builders and artists, includes an auction of spectacular doghouses and other items with proceeds to the Ottawa Humane Society.
