Comon' out and sing your heart out with China Doll at Shanghai Restaurant and support Greyhound Supporters who help with` the adoption of former racing greyhound dogs. _ – Laura Gauthier _ ** Friday, April 17: Sonoluminescence Trio (William Parker, David Mott, Jesse Stewart) CD Release concerts at GigSpace ** Three master improvisers – bassist William Parker from NYC, baritone saxophonist David Mott from Toronto, and drummer Jesse Stewart from Ottawa – played two sold-out concerts here in 2014. They recorded a CD the following weekend (all improvised, just like their concerts), and they’re releasing it this Friday in two concerts at GigSpace. The CD is called Telling Stories, and the trio has lots of stories to tell: musically, about many interesting people they’ve encountered in their careers, and about how they create music together. The exhibition will present a collection of works by SPAO students and artists in residence. So find your way down to the real McCoy of Ottawa’s SpeakEasies known as the ByTown Basement. Imagine yourself dancing the night away with bootleg beverages and underground bosses. Dress yourself in some festive attire and find your way down to our mysterious location.
