The 39th edition of Winterlude runs from Feb. 3-20, with hundreds of events under the “celebrate Canada in winter” theme.
Winterlude will be held at three official sites, each with distinct programming. Gatineau’s Jacques-Cartier Park offers a slew of activities, such as a zip line, slides and a Canada 150 maze. Featuring is the National Snow Sculpture Rendezvous, where the public is able to vote on their favourite sculpture.
Confederation Park in Ottawa will be the site of the Sub-Zero Concert Series, as well as a laser show. Check out Crystal Garden in the park, made of gorgeous ice carvings by artists from around the world.
Some of the more classic events will be held on the Rideau Canal Skateway, including the Winterlude Triathlon. The canal will also host North America’s first-ever ice dragon boat race, which organizers said will be the biggest one in the world.
