Ottawa’s New Country 94 Launches Today

Bell Media announced the launch today of Ottawa’s New Country 94, a brand new radio station for the nation’s capital. At 93.9 on the FM dial, the new, high-energy format begins broadcasting from downtown Ottawa at 12 noon today, kicking off with a commercial-free, announcer-free, 10,000-song launch. Ottawa’s New Country 94 features some of the biggest stars in music today, including Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Dallas Smith, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, and many more.

“Some of today’s best music and most celebrated artists by far are New Country, and we’re proud to bring this red-hot genre downtown,” said Ian March, Ottawa FM Radio Program Director, Bell Media. “Starting with 10,000 non-stop songs in a row, we’ll be offering more choice and a better New Country music experience than Ottawa listeners have ever had before.”

In addition to the commercial-free, announcer-free kick start, Ottawa’s New Country 94 also features $10,000 Mondays - a chance for listeners to win $10,000 with a single phone call.  The station will also have more New Country concert tickets to give away for Ottawa’s hottest upcoming shows than any other radio station, launching right out of the gate with tickets for Eric Church (Nov. 15), Kira Isabella (Nov. 17), Dierks Bentley (Dec. 2), and Florida Georgia Line (Feb. 19).

“We’ve been surveying the needs and wants of local radio listeners for more than six months now, and Ottawa’s New Country 94 has a specific focus that fills a gap in the market today,” said Richard Gray, Regional Vice-President/General Manager, Radio/TV, Northern and Eastern Ontario/Maritimes, Bell Media. “This is a radio station that will appeal to listeners and advertisers alike with some of the hottest music out there today.”

Ottawa’s New Country 94 joins Bell Media’s stable of top media properties in Ottawa, including MAJIC 100, 580 CFRA, and TSN 1200, along with CTV Ottawa and CTV Two Ottawa. More Ottawa radio stations…
