The Ottawa Public Library has launched an exciting online learning resource: Lynda.com. Lynda.com, offers online learning in software, creative, and business skills through video tutorials. Currently there are more than 4,000 tutorials and the number grows every week.
“I’m very excited about this new offering,” said Tim Tierney, Chair of the Ottawa Public Library Board and Councillor for Beacon Hill – Cyrville. “Lynda.com is excellent for learning technical skills and techniques. It is appropriate for customers of all skill levels as it caters to those who are highly skilled in specific areas, as well as beginners.”
Lynda.com requires the creation of a personal account which will allow customers to track their progress through their tutorials.
Tutorial topics and popular videos include:
- Web Development, such as HTML Essential Training
- Programming Languages, such as the Foundations of Programming: Fundamentals
- Photography, such as Photoshop CC Essential Training
- Business, such as Project Management Fundamentals
- 3D animation, such as Edge Animate Essential Training
