Ottawa Public Library v. Ottawa Comiccon: Dawn of Awesomeness

_ (press release) _ The Ottawa Public Library will once again be part of Ottawa Comiccon. This is the Library’s fifth year at the convention, and its first year appearing with OPL’s mini Bookmobile. Visitors will be able to obtain a free Library card and borrow material on site. They will also have a chance to view and use items from our Imagine Space, OPL’s popular makerspace.

Comiccon attendees are invited to visit the mini Bookmobile in front of the EY Centre to view Comiccon-related items from our collection, including graphic novels and DVDs for all audiences, as well as youth video games.

The mini Bookmobile will arrive equipped with Imagine Space items; giving visitors a chance to see a 3D printer in action, play with Makey Makeys, LED throwies, and LEGO, and use Chromebooks with access to Wifi. There will also be a green screen where guests can have their picture taken and choose from a selection of backgrounds.
