Nicholas Street lane reduction to begin this weekend

Changes to traffic on Nicholas Street near Campus Transit Station will take place starting the evening of Sunday, August 23.

A duct bank located under the Transitway that provides heating and cooling to University of Ottawa buildings must be relocated in advance of the O-Train’s Confederation Line construction scheduled to take place in 2016.

Northbound Nicholas Street will be reduced by one lane between Campus Transit Station and the south end of Waller Street. This work will extend the existing lane reduction already in place on Nicholas Street at Mann Avenue.

There will be no detour and all OC Transpo buses will run as normal. Any traffic impacts will be communicated with variable message signs.

The lane reduction will remain in place for approximately three months, until the duct bank relocation is completed.

The O-Train Confederation Line is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
