New
Year's Fireworks in Ottawa? Yes, it's true. For the first
time in seven years, there will be a major New Year's celebration
outdoors in downtown Ottawa. The NCC is hosting two fireworks shows.
One at 6:57pm to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the choice of
Ottawa as the Capital of Canada. (6:57 = 18:57 -- 1857 being the year
Ottawa was chosen ... very clever). Then at midnight, a 400-second
fireworks display to honour the 400th anniversary of the City of Quebec.
