Man arrested after bb gun road rage incident at Merivale drive-thru

_ (Press release from the Ottawa Police.) _ On the 4

th

day of April 2015, at approximately 3pm West Division Patrol Officers responded to the 1600 block of Merivale Rd (near Merivale & Meadowlands) in relation to a Road Rage incident. There was a disturbance in the drive-thru area of a restaurant in which a suspect from a vehicle brandished a firearm and pointed it towards a driver of another vehicle.

Patrol officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and arrest the occupants. Upon search of the vehicle, a bb handgun was located. The subsequent investigation and manner in which the bb gun was used resulted in Jordan COLLETTE (23 years of age) being charged with the following offences:

Careless Use of a Firearm- 86(1)-Criminal Code of Canada

Pointing a Firearm-87(1)-Criminal Code of Canada

 * 
Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose-88(1)-Criminal Code of Canada

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit has taken carriage of the investigation and is looking to speak with any outstanding witness’ or victims.
