LET IT OUT SEPTEMBER 16-20 AT OTTAWA INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FESTIVAL

From September 16-20, Ottawa audiences can enjoy some of the most cutting-edge, thoughtful, and outrageous animation from around the world as the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), North America’s leading animation event, comes to town. Now in its 39th year, the annual celebration of all that is animated promises something for everyone, including nearly 150 animated works, as well as opportunities to meet and mingle with animation’s most celebrated stars, studios and characters.

“We’re pretty excited about the last year of our 30s,” says Chris Robinson, OIAF’s Artistic Director. “We’ve got fan favourites from the big studios, Oscar winners, along with our usual assortment of quirky, provocative work guaranteed to confuse, inspire and maybe even get under your skin a little bit.”

A star-studded list of animators will participate in this year’s festivities, including animation giants such as Bruce Bickford, Michael Kurinsky, Leah Shore, Patrick McHale, Sanjay Patel (USA), Michèle Cournoyer (Canada), and Kaspar Jancis (Estonia).

Directors from major studios such as the Cartoon Network, Disney, Pixar, Nickelodeon, and Sony Animated Pictures will also be in attendance for special screenings, talks and workshops, as well as the The Animation Conference (TAC), which runs parallel to OIAF, September 16-18 at Chateau Laurier.
