leMeow Releases Self-Titled EP – First Reveal Of The Soul Jazz Indie Duo

leMeow’s newly released debut EP reveals a soulful sound infused with modern appeal and unique instrumentation. Recorded in Ottawa at Johnny Hall Productions , the three-song EP is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and stand-up bassist, James Rooke and lead vocalist and xylophonist, Gin Bourgeois. Producer Eric Eggleston said, “Working with leMeow’s vintage yet modern grooves enabled me to reach for new and interesting soundscapes. I love it!”

Although relatively new to the scene, Gin explained that leMeow was a long time in the making. “James and I used to play in a band together years ago but we lost touch when he went on tour and I went back to school. About a year and a half ago we ran into each other at a Steam Whistle event with free beer, and the rest is history,” she said with a laugh. The musical duo also received help from David Gains on guitar, Mark Wilson on drums and Nick Gabroussenok on keys for their first studio recordings.

leMeow is expected to reveal the music video for Evening Blues in the coming weeks which will mark their official launch. Their EP is currently available for purchase through iTunes with more to come later in the year.
