Landsdowne Park Guide
In the late 1860's, the City of Ottawa Agricultural Society
acquired the land
now known as Lansdowne Park for use as show grounds. The first exhibition
was held on the site in 1875. Since then the park has hosted exhibitions,
sports, entertainment, and other public events.
Ottawa's attention is focused on Lansdowne Park these days, as our
city debates the Lansdowne Live proposal made by the Ottawa Sports and
Entertainment Group (OSEG). The proposal calls for a total redevelopment
of the site, including a new stadium, housing, retail, and bringing
CFL football back to Ottawa.
