Cycling Sub-Committee has organized a public open house. This sub-committee is focused on the cycling safety and accessibility needs within Kanata North of three specific user groups: Recreational Cyclists; Families; Commuter Cyclists. Their primary goal was to understand how accessible established neighbourhoods in Kanata North are for cyclists by road & paths: between neighborhoods; to get to Kanata North amenities such as shopping, recreation, libraries, etc; to commute back and forth to work; for recreational enjoyment. They will present the results of their study and a map of the cycling routes in Kanata North, discuss the next steps, volunteer opportunities, provide a demonstration and answer questions.
“The enthusiastic participation and hard work by the volunteers of TACK is providing great information on safe cycling in the community and where there is a need for improvements. I’m impressed by the quality of their work and their dedication to making Kanata North a cycle friendly community” noted Councillor Marianne Wilkinson.
Open House Date: Tuesday, May 19, 2015
Time: 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Drive (Halls C and D), Kanata
