Canada’s Largest Research & Technology Park is buzzing with growth and exceptional career opportunities for new students and experienced professionals.
For the third year in a row the Kanata North Business Association has hosted the popular job fair, one of the largest in the area, at the Brookstreet Hotel, seeing over 1100 attendants last year. Many of the hottest tech companies in the area will be exhibiting and looking for talent, along with other business sectors.
This year the career fair has been rebranded as Discover TechNata, a day long tech expo and Job fair open to the public, the media and anyone seeking employment. Taking place on Thursday, April 7th from 11 AM to 6 PM, on the second floor of the Brookstreet hotel attendants will have the opportunity to meet with local Kanata companies, educational institutions, and placement agencies.
“Each year the event has grown and the interest from our business community has been very positive, one company in particular, Syntronic mentioned they hired 4 full time employees as a result of attending the Career Fair last year,” said Jenna Sudds, Executive Director of the Kanata North Business Association.
Discover TechNata will provide visitors and job seekers the opportunity to discover the innovative and vibrant Kanata North business community, see product demos and find out about the available employment opportunities in the business and technology sectors. The event offers a chance to shine a light on the game changing technology and the expanding business ecosystem.
Representatives from the University’s and colleges co-op programs will be on hand in the exhibitor lounge to answer any questions and discuss availability of students and the program benefits. The University of Ottawa has also arranged to have 2 bus loads of students from their engineering and graduate studies dept. dropped off at Discover TechNata.
The event is an excellent platform for hiring companies to showcase their organization, establish a profile amongst students and connect with highly qualified professionals.
Major sponsors for the event include Irdeto, Qlik, Sciemetic, Innovapost, and Amdocs. Additional support came from the city of Ottawa, the city’s two universities, as well as La Cité, Algonquin College, Invest Ottawa, Baird Benefits Plus, and CBRE.
