Inuit artist Annie Pootoogook identified as woman found dead Monday

_ ** Editor’s note: Ottawa Police have identified the woman found dead Monday as noted Inuit artist Annie Pootoogook. Foul play is not suspected. Here is a news release from police: ** _ (Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police is asking for anyone with information regarding the movements of Annie POOTOOGOOK in the days leading up to the discovery of her body earlier this month to contact the Major Crime Section.

On September 19, 2016 at about 8:50 a.m. a body was discovered in the water close to Bordeleau Park in Lowertown.

The body has been identified as Annie POOTOOGOOK, a 46 year old woman from Ottawa.
