Gateway to the new Canadian History Hall: What does Canada look like to you?

_ (press release) _ When it opens on July 1, 2017 at the Canadian Museum of History, the new Canadian History Hall will cover more than 15,000 years of history — from the dawn of human habitation to the present day. One of the features of the new Hall will be its gateway: a dynamic passageway filled with illustrations representing Canada and reflecting on how history is all around us.

As we begin to choose the images for the gateway, we want to hear from you. What do you think of when you think of Canada? Do you picture people and their cultural traditions? Symbols such as the beaver, maple leaf and fleur-de-lys? Iconic landmarks and historical events?

We’re inviting Canadians to share their suggestions with us. To get involved in this project, please visit our website [ historymuseum.ca/gateway ] and use our submission form to share your ideas on images in the following three categories: existing landmarks, symbols of Canadian life or identity, and typical Canadian activities.

For more information, including details on each of the image categories, follow this link: ** historymuseum.ca/gateway ** .

Thanks for your input — we look forward to hearing from you! _ Work of the Canadian History Museum is made possible in part through financial support of the Government of Canada. _
