Flags at half-mast for fallen firefighters

The National Day of Mourning for Fallen Firefighters is Sunday, September 13 – a day that honours all firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The flags at all City of Ottawa sites will be flown at half-mast this Sunday from sunrise to sunset to commemorate these courageous and committed men and women.

Ottawa Fire Services and the Ottawa Firefighters Community Foundation will host a ceremony at the firefighters’ memorial at Marion Dewar Plaza today at noon, preceded by a march along Elgin Street. Flags will fly at half-mast at all Ottawa Fire Service stations today and Sunday.
