Federal Election 2011: Where and when you can vote, advance polls, voters list, etc.

  • Election Day is on Monday, May 2, 2011. Polls we be open from 9:30am-9:30pm.
  • Advance polling takes place on Friday, April 22, Saturday, April 23 and Monday, April 25 between 12:00pm and 8:00pm. You can find more info about advance polling at elections.ca
  • All Canadian citizens 18 years or older (as of May 2) are eligible to vote.
  • Everyone registered to vote should receive a voter information card in the mail between April 8 and April 13.
  • If you don’t receive this card by April 13, or if you aren’t registered, you can visit elections.ca or call 1-800-463-6868.
  • Your local polling place (the location where you vote) will be indicated on your voter information card. You can also find the location at elections.ca
  • Youc an also vote by mail or in person at an Elections Canada office by special ballot, but you have to apply by 6:00pm on April 26. Applications are available at www.elections.ca
