The 2017 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend will welcome over 48,000 participants in six races, including the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon, the Scotiabank Half-Marathon, the Lowertown Brewery Ottawa 10K, the HTG Sports 5K, the 2K and Scotiabank Kids Marathon. The Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon and Ottawa 10K are both designated Silver Label IAAF events by the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF). A brief history
It all started back in 1975, when 146 runners lined up at Carleton University for Ottawa’s first marathon. Today, thousands of runners take part in several events, including the marathon, half marathon, 10k, family runs, wheelchair races, and more.

Although now known as the “Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend”, the event has also been known as the “National Capital Marathon”.
