Ottawa –The Ottawa Public Library (OPL) will be hosting the 6th edition of the New Entrepreneurs of Ottawa Networking Event (NEON) on April 26, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Ben Franklin Place. This popular event brings small business owners together with the goal of finding inspiration in one another. Local organizations that provide services to the business community showcase their expertise and support services to entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in a learning environment that encourages an exchange of knowledge and advice. A panel of guest entrepreneurs will share their own experiences and lessons learned with attendees.
This annual event is organized by the Ottawa Public Library with a network of small businesses ‒ free of charge. This year’s NEON event was a collaboration of the following partners: OPL, Invest Ottawa, Work Skills, Ottawa Community Loan Fund, In-TAC, Ignite AC, and Collab Space.
The event will feature keynote speaker Emile Salem, Executive Consultant and Founder at Collab Space. Salem founded Collab Space, a co-working facility and incubator space in the west end, where entrepreneurs can work within and build a community of collaborative, growth-oriented peers. Salem has invested and founded more than 40 different local startups and has developed a cross section of successful business platforms and sales strategies for numerous business leaders.
A panel of local entrepreneurs will share their tips, advice and be available to answer questions. Following the panel, attendees can visit a trade show of free services to small business to learn how they can help new business take root and grow. This is a remarkable opportunity for entrepreneurs or the entrepreneurially curious to network with fellow entrepreneurs in an open and inspiring atmosphere.
