Learn about the journey from cow to cone at the Ice Cream Festival at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. You can practice your milking technique on the Museum’s wooden cow, and learn how dairying technology now includes milking machines and even robotic milkers. Help make ice cream with an old-fashioned manual ice cream maker, and then taste the fruits of your labour. Step back through time to the 1950s and discover the history of ice cream scoops as well as of sundaes, including a sample of this delicious treat. Other activities include crowd-pleasing performances by Capital City Jumpers, The Cowguys, Monkey Rock Music, and a steelpan musician. Also on the schedule are sampling ice cream bread, and kids’ corner with crafts and games. A variety of food services and local ice cream vendors will also be on site. This will be a tasty treat of a day not to be missed!
