The Canadian Museum of Nature’s Beaty Centre for Species Discovery presents a day-long scientific symposium, Biodiversity Conservation for a Sustainable Future. Program and registration information is available

This symposium will assess the current state of biodiversity conservation in Canada and offer an outlook on sustainable use into the next 150 years.  Highlights include keynote talk by Dr. Leonard Krishtalka, “A new view of life: Quantum biology and biological dark matter”. Feature presentations include a look at the current status and challenges facing COSEWIC (Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada), a Canadian perspective on conservation from the Nature Conservancy of Canada, and how today’s students can “save the planet”.

Registration fee before Jan. 19 is $50 ($25 for students), and $75 ($40 for students) after. Includes lunch and refreshments. Information: 613-364-4033;
