Mark your calendars for the largest Ukrainian Independence Day in Ottawa! The Embassy of Ukraine in Canada in partnership with the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM) is proud to invite you to a “Day in Ukraine” – a joint celebration of Canada’s 150th and Ukraine’s independence.
As part of year-round Canada 150 festivities, embassies, and high commissions mark their country’s national celebration with a series of world-class free events at Lansdowne Park. Each country celebrates their culture through food tasting, musical celebrations, artistic performances and more.
Infused with contemporary culture and music, “A Day in Ukraine” will include exhibits from some of Ukraine’s leading innovators, including a virtual reality demonstration of the historic Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Also included are delicious traditional meals, children’s workshops, a marketplace, and a portable escape room. Artistic performers, musicians, and dance ensembles are to join from both Canada and Ukraine.
The event will close with a free concert in Lansdowne Park featuring an up and coming electro-folk group by the name ONUKA, who was most recently profiled in the Eurovision song contest. Register for your ticket at the following link.
