The
results are coming in, and we've voted to keep Bob Chiarelli
as our mayor for another term. Chiarelli picked up 56.5% of the vote,
while second-place Terry Kilrea earned 36.0%. Voter
turn-out in this election was around 32%.
Of the 21 city councillor jobs in Ottawa, six will be filled by new
faces. We've highlighted the newcomers below. Of the 15 councillor incumbents,
12 were re-elected, and three were acclaimed.
How will council vote? CBC Ottawa has an interesting Council
Breakdown feature that lets you see how the various councillors
would cast their votes — assuming they stick to what they said
in the campaign.
