Details on road closures for Canada Army Run weekend

_ (press release) _ ** Canada Army Run road closures in Ottawa and Gatineau on September 17-18 ** The 2016 Canada Army Run is taking place this Sunday, September 18, and several road closures will occur over the weekend.

The Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be closed on both Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, between Somerset Street West and the Laurier Avenue west on-ramp.

A number of other roads will be closed the morning of Sunday, September 18, and into the early afternoon, in Ottawa and Gatineau, including portions of:

Colonel By Drive, Pretoria Bridge, Queen Street, Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, Elgin Street,

Booth Street, Chaudière Bridge, Alexandra Bridge, Sussex Drive, Wellington Street, MacKenzie Avenue, Rideau Street, Dufferin Road, Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, Hawthorne Avenue, Lisgar Road, Princess Avenue, Boulevard Alexandre-Taché, Rue Wellington, Rue St-Rédempteur, Rue St-Jacques, Rue Leduc, Rue Eddy, Promenade du Portage, Rue Laurier, and Rue de l’Hôtel de Ville.

Employees seeking access to the Canadian War Museum will be directed via signage and police to a coned lane and entrance on Wellington St. and Vimy Place or Booth Street.

The event is bringing over 20,000 participants who will walk, run, or roll in 5K and half marathon events on both Ottawa and Gatineau streets. Crowds of thousands are also expected along the routes to cheer participants on.
