Countdown to Canada Day: The Polar Express is ready to go in Kanata

Earlier this week I posted some photos of the stage set-up on Parliament Hill.  Half a million people are expected there on Canada Day, but thousands and thousands more will attend local events all over our region. Volunteers and workers are busy tonight getting them ready as well.

Just stopped by Walter Baker Park in Kanata, where they’re making the final preparations for the big Canada Day in Kanata event.  Ran into Chris Clarke from Classic Amusements who pointed out this massive midway ride:
It’s a vintage 1972 ride, built in Germany, and touring around Canada and North America ever since.  It’s making it’s debut with Classical Amusements at this weekend’s event. Chris also had a small army of workers getting massive amounts of cotton candy and candy apples ready for tomorrow’s fair.
