CityFolk announces much-anticipated lineup

_ (press release) _ Ottawa, ON — CityFolk music festival organizers today announced the initial line-up for their 2016 program.

CityFolk will also feature an _ encore _ presentation of Marvest in neighbouring Bank Street area venues, with performers, places, and times to be announced once the program is confirmed.

CityFolk organizers confirmed a return to the recently-renovated Lansdowne Park location, as well. Attendance this year is expected to exceed 50,000. Audience size has increased incrementally since 2011, when ‘The Team Behind Bluesfest’ began managing the event.

“Returning to Lansdowne Park provides us, once again, with an accessible world-class venue that matches up nicely with our mandate of offering an exceptional festival experience,” says the festival’s executive/artistic director Mark Monahan.

During CityFolk, ticket holders will have access to performances on the Main Stage, located on the Great Lawn, and performances on a new stage—sponsored by BMO Financial Group—in the Aberdeen Pavilion, which will offer iconic acts and feature a food and micro-brew experience. There will also be a KidZone open to the public, offering numerous family activities.
