City to honour Hélène Campbell with renaming of road in Barrhaven

Barrhaven Councillor Jan Harder will host the unveiling of the new street sign marking Hélène Campbell Road, on Friday, May 20.

Guests will include Mayor Jim Watson, MPP Lisa MacLeod and Hélène Campbell, a local resident and double lung transplant recipient who raised awareness of, and participation in, organ donation registrations across North America. She is currently spearheading the Give2Live campaign, which raises funds to support Canadians who must live away from home near a transplant centre while they await an organ donation.

 

Date:   Friday, May 20
Time:   2:30 to 3 p.m.
Place:  The western extension of Jockvale Road between Cedarview Road and Strandherd Drive. (West from Cedarview at the roundabout.)

Parking: A portion of the road will be closed off for the event and on-street parking will be available.

Attire: Outdoor event, please dress appropriately for the day’s weather. Comfortable dancing shoes are highly recommended.
