11 February 2017Charges laid after fatal Queensway collision that tied up traffic Friday morning_ (Via OPP) _ (Ottawa, ON) –The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police investigated a motor vehicle collision on Highway 417.The driver of the van, who died as a result of the collision, has been identified as Gennadi BRIANSKI ( 50 yrs old) from Carleton Place, ON.The driver of the Commercial Motor vehicle (Daniel Mongeon of Gatineau) has been charged with Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with Parts Detached (Highway Traffic Act).The company who owned the tractor trailer unit, ICB Food Distribution of Ottawa was charged with Permit Operation of an Unsafe Commercial Motor Vehicle.
