Can you help? Help one of our readers track down a poem from last week's Remembrance Day ceremony

We received this email over the weekend:

_ I attended the Remembrance Day Service in the centre of Ottawa on Thursday last and was quite moved really impressed by the poem composed by a 10 year old, which was read out at the service. I have tried to find a copy of the poem on web sites, but to no avail. As I would like to take a copy back to England to show my friends, I wonder if it would be possible for you to let me have site of one. Thanking you in anticipation, and doing this would make an old age pensioner very happy.
Kind Regards

A quick search turned up some clues: The poem was written by 10-year-old Alexandria Grace Parker. Her father, Col. Geoff Parker, was killed in Afghanistan. Part of the poem included the lines:

_

Today, we face another war which no one understands.
 Why can't we get along?

Why can't we just hold hands?
</blockquote>

If anyone can help Pamela find the entire text of the poem, please add a comment below or

  _
   Many years have passed,
  _
  _
Since World War I and II,
  _
  _
   The purpose was for freedom,
  _
  _
   For me and for you.
  _
  _

  _
  _
   Many lives were lost,

   That we recognize today.
  _
  _
   The soldiers deserve our respect,
  _
  _
   Our honours and our praise.
  _
  _

  _
  _
   Today we face another WAR,
  _
  _
   Which no one understands,

   Why can’t we get along,
  _
  _
Why can’t we just hold hands?
  _
  _

  _
  _
   So wear your Poppy Proudly,
  _
  _
   Show dignity and respect.
  _
  _
For the many lives we’ve lost
  _
  _
   LEST WE FORGET
  _
  _

  _
  _
   Pro Patria Daddy.
