Call for artists to paint the Manotick mural

Manotick Mural project

Call for Submissions

In collaboration with the City of Ottawa, the Manotick BIA invites mural artists to submit proposals. The successful artist will design and paint a mural that will be hung on the wall adjacent to the Mill Street Park (back of Splash Pools building) on Mill Street.

Submission Deadline: April 8, 2018 (11:59 pm)

Budget: The winning artist will receive $7,500 (upon delivery of final mural)

The mural dimensions will be 16’ x 8’. The Manotick BIA will provide the artist with four, 4’ x 8’ panels to be painted at their home studio.

The mural should embody life in Manotick. The artist can draw inspiration from Manotick’s history, character, and community. Examples are: the water, landmarks, new growth and development (new harbour being constructed in summer of 2018), and the community culture (Dickinson Days, A Taste of Manotick).

This opportunity is open to professional mural artists and students living within the National Capital Region. Participants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Artists and/or artist-led teams are encouraged to apply.

The winning artist will be notified by May 18, 2018. The premade panels will be delivered to the artist’s studio by May 28, 2018. The completion deadline will be no later than August 19, 2018.
