OttawaStart received a media advisory today with news that next Tuesday, Jim Watson will proclaim August 10-18 as “National Capital Craft Beer Week” in Ottawa.

That’s right, there’s a week-long celebration of beer coming to our thirsty city.  Here’s the official web site for the event.

Brewers participating (so far) include Broadhead, Beau’s, Kitchissippi, Ashton Brewing Company, Hogs Back, Mill Street, Cassel, Big Rig, and the Clocktower.

Here’s what to expect:

National Capital Craft Beer Week will feature 9 days of craft-brewing related events across the region, celebrating the capital region's rich brewing heritage and exciting current offerings. From Beer and Food pairing dinners to Brewmasters' receptions, National Capital Craft Beer Week will offer tons of opportunities to learn about, sample, appreciate, and enjoy craft beer at its best!
Our final weekend features a two-day outdoor craft beer and culinary festival, showcasing the best craft breweries and eateries the region has to offer! Look for our 2012 Ontario On Tap area as well, of fering a sampling of some of Ontario's favourite non-regional craft breweries.
