The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that forward Bobby Ryan has purchased a private suite for each Senators home game for the next eight seasons. The suite, which will be known as Bobby Ryan’s All-Star Kids, has been donated to the Ottawa Senators Foundation (@SensFoundation), which will work with Bobby each season to host up to 16 children, youth and their families at every Senators home game running through the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.
For the 2014-15 season, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) will be the exclusive charitable partner of Bobby Ryan’s All-Star Kids.
“Since his arrival in Ottawa, Bobby has truly embraced our community and our fans,” said Senators owner Eugene Melnyk. “I am very proud that all of our players have maintained a great tradition of being meaningful and generous contributors to our community. That tradition continues today and I want to personally thank Bobby for his generous donation of a private suite that will bring a special group of young Sens fans to every home game for the next eight hockey seasons.”
Ryan, 27, was acquired by Ottawa in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks on July 5, 2013. He has scored 25 goals and added 28 assists for 53 points in 78 games in a Senators uniform. Ryan was Anaheim’s first-round pick (second overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft.
